There are lots of websites which are not properly optimized in terms of speed and content. A website without proper optimizations is throwing a stone in dark. Slow website means you are losing your customer.

One study shows that average human attention span has dropped from 12 seconds to 7 seconds. You have to present your product or services within a little time.

Search engines like Google have an algorithm to push down the slow loading website. Which means less traffic to the website.

So, in order to rank higher on the search engines, you need to have a fast loading website.

So here are the 6 ways to speed up your WordPress website.

1. Get trusted hosting

Hosting plays a great role in your website speed. Better the hosting company higher will be the load time if your website.

Shared hosting providers like Blue Host, Site Ground take extra measures to speed up the website.  However,  managed WordPress hosting companies offer automatic backups, automatic WordPress updates, and more advanced security configurations to protect your website.

So, it is better to have managed hosting over shared hosting.

2. Image optimization

Images play important role in the speed of the website. As website contains lots of images, you need to properly optimize the images. There are lots of images optimizer plugins available which automatically optimizes images. However, only trusted plugin should be chosen.

4. Use CDN

As your websites are being accessed from different locations of the world, your website loading time is also different. CDN (Content Delivery Network) helps to speed up loading times for all of your visitors.

A CDN is a network made up of multiple servers all around the world. Each server will store “static” files used to make up your website. Static files are unchanging files such as images, CSS, and JavaScript, unlike your WordPress pages which are “dynamic”.

When you use a CDN, every time a user visits your website they are served those static files from whichever server is closest to them. Your own web hosting server will also be faster since the CDN is doing a lot of the work

5. Get the theme from the trusted developer

Website speed also depends on the coding structure of the website. So, you need to buy a theme from only trusted developers. Broken themes and not properly coded themes may also cause unnecessary loading.

All the beautiful looking theme are not necessary to be properly coded. Some beautiful and impressive-looking themes are actually poorly coded and can slow your site way down.

It is better to go with a simpler theme [Minimalist] than to choose a theme that’s bloated with complex layouts, flashy animations, and other unnecessary features.

We recommend using premium themes for better optimization and support.

6. Avoid using unnecessary plugins

One of the benefits of building a website in WordPress is its plugin. You can do whatever you want to do with the use of hundreds of plugins developed for the different purpose.

But, sometimes it may create a problem if you don’t pick up the right plugin. Moreover, if you use unnecessary plugins in your website, it slows down the performance of the website.
